Zebra and Hot pink

My mani this week is zebra with hot pink leopard. I liked how this came out. I  think it has a fun Summer feel to it.

Metal Flowers

This manicure has glitter and metal flowers inside the nail.  I put two types of glitter, then the metal flowers.  I bought the metal flowers at Michael's (by Petals & Pumps in jewelry section). In order to make them fit on the nail I had to use a mallet to get them a little flat.  It is very sparkly when the sunlight shines on them.

Aloha Style Mani

Aloha! No, I am not in Hawaii but I wish I was (:  This manicure combined with Bath & Body Fei Tahiti Coconut Vanille fragrance helped psyche me out about going on my Stay-cation. It was nice to discover some of the hidden treasures near my home.

OPI Hollywood Blonde mani

This is a pretty color by OPI Hollywood Blonde. I think I might try a lace Konad on this another day. The pictures to do not capture the pretty shimmer.

Glitter and a dash of Zebra

I started this manicure by doing the zebra part and then the glitter base. Next, I added the pink stripes. Next time I try this I think I'll use hot pink stripes.   I am loving black and white lately on my nails and in clothing. It looks so crisp and clean together.

Guest: Jester Nubbins Manicure

This manicure reminds me of the Jester outfits in the royal courts.  This manicure is courtesy of my creative frined. This time her long natural nails are gone and in their place are her natural nubbins :(  She broke 4 nails and they were beyond repair- so off they went. She buys the plastic hearts and butterflies at Michaels.

Marty of Madagascar Nails

My Nails of the week are inspired by Marty from the Madagascar movie. I did zebra design with rhinestones.  Lately, I have been so "safe" with my manicures, so I decided to live a little and try anything that catches my fancy.  Life is short- I want my nails long and fun!
My bebe helped me create this design.  I painted my nail a cappuccino color for the base so that the nail growth would not be so visible. Then, I painted a thick white diagonal white and black stripe side by side. Next, I used the nail polishes that have the long skinny brushes to make the zebra stripes.  The rhinestones where glued with with the help of my friend, I need more practice with gluing those things.

Pretty Detailed Manicure

These nails are natural and belong to a friend of mine. I thought they were so creative. She was nice enough to let me share with you. It's such a treat to see what she creates, especially since she is self taught. This intense manicure took her 5 to 6 hours.

Glitter Tips

I finally caved and put Acrylic tips on my nails.  I haven't had these in years.  There are 3 types of glitter, and rhinestones  mixed with clear powder. The glitter is inside and the nail is smooth.  It shines beautifully in the sun. This style is  called encapsilado in Spanish- its very popular in Latin America.

Starry Starry Night as a Dusty?

Like most polish fanatics, sometimes I day dream about finding that HTF discontinued item.  In general, I am not lucky but I'm hopeful. The other day, I decided to stop by a random beauty supply store in hopes of finding something worth finding. I hit the big one- Essie's Starry Starry Night. There she was dusty on a shelf in the back row behind endless pinks. SSN is everything I thought it would be.  It just might be my favorite polish.

MAC give me Liberty of London Blue India

I wanted to share a few items I bought from the MAC give me Liberty of London collection.  I really liked the colors and the fun packaging was a bonus.  The high perennial lip glass (coral color) reminded me of my favorite discontinued Chanel gloss in Sirop. Does anyone know a dupe for that? Viva Glam Lady Gaga lipstick is also pictured.  This was the first time I have bought a MAC nail polish and I was very disappointed with the formula. The color is Blue India. It took about 30 minutes to fully dry. I applied Poshe top coat and the finish looked a little off.  At the end of the day I had a chip and it looked very dull. This will be the last Mac polish I buy unless they change the formula.

For Audrey by China Glaze

NOTD is For Audrey by China Glaze.  I thought it would be nice for the Easter week.  The girl at the coffee shop was telling me how this was her favorite color and she had to buy the entire display so that she would not run out anytime soon.  Hmmm, maybe I should have gotten a backup of this one too?

Tropical breeze

Hello! I am so very happy Spring is here.  I was due for a renewal of some kind.  I always find Spring reminds me of Hope.  I thought this was perfect for Spring.   There was a pleasant breeze of orange blossom scent when I was taking this picture.  I used China Glaze OMG in GR8 for the base, Sally Hansen intradri in Mint Sprint and SH insta in Orange you fast and Konad plate 36  BTW: Somewhere over the rainbow by IZ is playing in the background- all that is missing is a tropical Mojito in my hand.
